Hello! My name is Allie Jackson. I am a junior currently majoring in Family and Child Sciences with a minor in education. I'm originally from Tampa, FL, but my family recently moved to Bradenton, FL. I'm a very artistic person and love all things crafty, specifically calligraphy!
Throughout my academic career, technology has been a main component (mostly in middle and high school). Technology has changed how students learn and absorb information on different subjects. Personally, technology has helped enhance how I learn. From studying quizlets or playing kahoots in class, it has made learning more fun and engaging.
I believe this class will introduce me to the many ways a teacher can incorporate technology into the classroom. I want to understand the advantages and disadvantages for students of using technology in a learning environment. Every student learns in a different way, so I'm interested in discovering the ways technology can help those students with learning disabilities or ESL students.
We will absolutely cover how to reach students with different learning needs and differences. We don't cover all of these software/hardware tools, so you may want to think about this for your ILP's!
